Time Chex, a talented son of Roanies Chex by the esteemed sire Times Up. Initially celebrated for his accomplishments in cutting with the Shumack family, Times Up has successfully transitioned into the campdrafting arena, delivering remarkable performances and high scores. Pete has long admired his work ethic and believes that a foal from Roanies Chex and Times Up would result in a horse with both size and capability for either cutting or campdrafting.

Time Chex was sold to Peter Shumack as a young horse, and Peter quickly set his sights on the 2019 NCHA Futurity for him. Fully trained, he had a standout NP Futurity year, winning the GR1 Open Snafflebit at St George and finishing equal seventh overall with Matilda Shumack. He was later sold through the 2020 Nutrien Sale at Tamworth, where Pete and Bryony recognised his talent and decided to bring him back home after closely following his Futurity journey.

After the sale, Time Chex spent time at Pete and Bryony’s property, working on mustering and general station tasks as Pete prepared him for a return to the Tamworth Nutrien Classic in 2021. Pete was confident that Time Chex would successfully transition to campdrafting, praising him as a skilled cattle horse with a light touch and a low, smooth stride, much like his renowned mother.

At the Nutrien Classic, Time Chex certainly didn’t disappoint, making it to the finals in his first competitive outing. As he matures and embarks on his full-time campdrafting career, Time Chex is poised to command attention for all the right reasons.
