Group One performing sprinter Sensei (Dream Ahead) has been retired from racing and is set to embark on a stud career. Trained by Michael and Matthew Pitman, the stallion often faced less-than-ideal track conditions due to the over-irrigated course at Riccarton. However, he is expected to perform well on the firmer tracks typically found in Australia. “I believe he’s a better horse than Enzo’s Lad, and Enzo’s Lad has won two Group Ones,” said Pitman. “Sensei was a Group One capable horse. He ran third in the Telegraph despite being forced wide throughout the race.” Sensei has always held a special place in Pitman’s heart, remaining the only horse to whom he has ever given a stable name.
