From a young age, Victor exhibited striking good looks and an excellent temperament. Each time Dennis's daughter, Kylie McPhee, visited her parents in Boggabri, she was impressed by Victor's development and offered to co-manage him. Thankfully, Dennis accepted her proposal, agreeing that if Victor proved to be difficult or didn’t meet expectations, he would be gelded.

Kylie typically handles the groundwork for all their horses, but recognising that a stallion requires a firmer approach during training, she decided to send Victor to Cody O’Neill for breaking. Following that, she integrated him into the mustering team, and everything progressed positively from there. Victor was also worked by Jack Breed, who provided steady feedlot experience and introduced him to his first drafts at ages 4 and 5.

Kylie reflects on her journey with Victor, saying, “I’ve had an absolute blast taking him along in my string.” She highlights his impressive qualities:

As a young stallion, Victor has limited foals on the ground, but with a busy breeding season in 2022/23 ahead, this is set to change. So far, his foals are displaying his long stride, attractive type, and sweet disposition.
